The NEC history page lists LIU as the 2026 regular-season champion and Wagner as the tournament champion. Both labels matter, but they are not interchangeable. Use the league table to follow regular-season results and the postseason bracket to determine who won the event.

The NEC's 2026 preview distinguished Stonehill's eligibility for the NCAA automatic berth from Mercyhurst's newly available NEC postseason participation. For a transitioning program, check the league's current eligibility announcement rather than assuming that playing conference games guarantees entry into every postseason competition.
